What is your memorable East-Meet-West moment? My whole life I've struggled with balancing east and west. Being mixed race, it was very difficult for me to find a sense of belonging. No matter how people viewed me I always thought I had more of a Western mindset, but it wasn't until my first year living in Vancouver that I started to notice the cultural differences and how much I took living in China for granted. So, I tried to maintain some connection to China by going to Chinese restaurants and Asian grocery stores to practice my Chinese. Growing up in the east then moving to the west, allowed me to appreciate that I can carry both east and west qualities within me wherever I go.
